Funky, Fun and Full of life.
This is one of Charlottes great neighborhoods. Classic bungalows, cottages, and mill homes combined with friendly people make this a charming neighborhood. NoDa (short for North Davidson) is also known as Historic North Charlotte. This area of Charlotte was a thriving textile community up until 1975. After the mills closed, artists began to find their place in the neighborhood, turning old buildings into artists studios and galleries and moving into the mill homes. Today NoDa is a thriving community of artists as well as others that are drawn to its unique culture and wonderful sense of community. On the 1st & 3rd Friday evening of each month the neighborhood is packed for the Gallary Crawl. All of the local galleries are open to the public and the restaurants get slammed. Street performers & musicians come out of the woodwork for this event. It’s an experience that you won’t want to miss!
Walk to NoDa! 36th St. is now open from N. Tryon to N. Davidson. Have the best of both worlds. Enjoy close proximity to the new light rail station, restaurants, coffee shops, and breweries, all while having the neighborhood feel of being on a quiet, secluded street. Don't miss the details in this Master-down modern craftsman. Enjoy Custom finishes with a spacious, open floor plan with added bonus room for a second living space. The City of Charlotte is working on a $5.3 million "Streetscape" project at N. Tryon and 36th (http://charlottenc.gov/Projects/Pages/NorthTryon36th.aspx). Project to include pedestrian-friendly features and new landscaping at the Tryon intersection before you enter Ritch Ave.
